Seeing NU'EST in Australia

A date to remember: Friday 24th August

7:30 am - lined up at First Fleet Park at Circular Quay and saw a glimpse of Nu’est. Some lucky fans were able to take pictures with them, then they left. Pretty much JUST missed out on getting photos with them :(

11:50 am - lined up at UNSW to grab tickets for the K-Pop Cover Contest Regionals in which Nu’est were guest judges.

3:50 pm - got FIRST ROW SEATS to the contest (and around 4m away from Nu’est!!)

- during the middle of the contest, Aaron had to go to the toilet(?) and tried to sneak out silently (which obviously didn’t work). When he came back a short time later, he tried not to disturb the person who was performing but failed. Then a person leaned against the door and it opened, causing Aaron to crack up. He then rushed into his judging seat, having to push past Minhyun (for a moment it looked like he was going to sit on him) and Ren.

- after watching Minhyun (who was closest to us) during the dance performances I have come to a conclusion that he really likes SHINee’s songs. He sang along to most of them (sometimes pausing when he realised he got some of the lyrics wrong, haha)

- after one of the performances, Nu’est were given time to ask the performers questions. The performers had danced to EXO-K’s History and one of the Nu’est members asked (jokingly), “Why did you choose to dance to an EXO-K song, not a Nu’est song?” (2 groups had danced to EXO-K but none danced to Nu’est). The performers responded with, “We will if you come back”. (smart)

- just before announcing the dance contest winners, they performed Face, Not over you and Action. When the chairs for Face were brought onto the stage, everyone had already started screaming. As a joke, the MC said, “Wow, I’ve never seen such a crowd being so enthusiastic about a group of chairs” lol. During Not Over You, one of the Nu’est members (it was such a blur I couldn’t remember who it was!) pointed (part of the choreo) to me and made eye contact for a fraction of a second (spazzes again inside)! Overall, all of their performances were very impressive :)

- at the end when Nu’est were announcing the winners of the dancing component of the Cover Contest, Baekho decided to troll us for a bit longer by saying, “and first prize goes to….. NU’EST!” Everyone paused for a second and cheered (knowing he did this on purpose). Then Aaron announced the real winners of the Contest who will be going to Korea to compete against people from other countries.

A brief summary of a day full of Nu’est. I heard they were going to Bondi Beach tomorrow but we’ll just have to see^^

NU’EST plans to hold a fan-meeting and showcase for their ‘NU’EST The 1st Face to Face in Thailand‘ event to be held in Thailand’s ‘Siam Paragon Paraguay Royal Grand’ this month. Following promotions in Thailand, they will continue on to Australia mid August, then onto Singapore during December to meet with their overseas fans.
